We are very excited to offer 2 STEM programs over the summer…

STEM @ Lee Library, 100 Main Street, Lee

4 Mondays in July: July 7th, July 14th, July 21st, July 28th

10:30am-11:30am

ages 3-7, no registration required.

STEM @ Mason Library, 231 Main Street, Great Barrington

Fridays (begins June 27th, no group on July 4th) 10:30-11:30am

ages 3-5, no registration required.

Come join us on a STORYWALK!!

*Readers begin at page one of a children’s book.  Whether walking, skipping, or leaping to the next page posted, readers will follow the story over the course of the “walk” and end with a live reading and craft!!

*These events are FREE and open to the public!!

*FREE books will be handed out while supplies last!

**Tuesday, April 22nd “Up Down and Around” by Katherine Ayers @ The Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge. Event starts at 10:30 with a walk through the garden as you read the story, ending with a live read and craft at 10:45am in the Children’s Garden.

**Thursday, April 24th “Wherever You Are: My Love Will Find You” by Nancy Tillman @ The Lenox Library in Lenox. This event starts at the library’s entrance @ 11:00am with a walk through downtown Lenox as you read the story, ending with a live read and craft in the Lenox Library’s Children’s Room. There are 2 Live reads!! 11:30am and 2:00pm.

**Friday, April 25th “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak @ The Mason Library in Great Barrington. This event starts at the Subway Shop @ 10:00am with a walk through downtown Great Barrington, ending with a live read  and craft at the Mason Library.

We are very excited to announce we received extra funding from the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) to provide STEM programming for families with children ages 3 to 5.

*Thursday, April 17th @ 6:30pm Keeping Your Child Healthy is a Big Job! Dr. McNally and Dr. Setti will host a workshop on children’s health with plenty of time for Q & A.  Topics to be discussed may include immunization, antibiotics, and toxins in the home.  These CHP doctors will answer all your questions about taking care of your child’s body from head to toe.

*Wednesday, May 28th @ 6:30pm Calming the Storm with Jeanine Fitzgerald.  This session will focus on children’s anger issues, examine a conceptual framework for understanding anger and applying this understanding to create plans that address and change the cycle of anger.

*Wednesday, June 4th @ 6:30pm Understanding your Child: Tips and Tools for a Constructive Summer with Meagan Ledendecker from the Montessori School of the Berkshires.  Every child is on a developmental progression.  Learn how to see your child’s unique place in this continuum and how simple shifts in perspective can lead to more cooperation, increased satisfaction, and meaningful fun.  Take home summer activity ideas, to!

First Saturdays of the Month: Feb. 1st, March 1st, April 5th, 10:00am-12:00pm

Join Kim Waterman as we re-tell some of our favorite stories by using music, instruments, movement, and puppets .Bring a snack and explore the school and playground.

Topics to discuss include avoiding online scams, what is new in online banking, credit scores, family budgeting and how to teach your child(ren) basic money concepts (spending, saving, earning).

There will be free resources, children’s books and gift card raffles!!!

South Berkshire Kid’s is coming to a library near you!!!

Every Child Ready to Read is a 5-week literacy program for families with young children ages 0 to 5.  Moms, Dads, Caregivers and Grandparents are all welcome!!

*This program is FREE! Funded by the CFCE grant from the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

It is a parent workshop, storytime & playgroup all in one!! During our 45 minute sessions we will learn and practice pre-reading skills that will help your child(ren) get ready for school.

This Fall we have programs at the Lee Library and Mason Library. Please call Jessica @ 413-464-5095 for more information. Registration is required and space is limited so please call ASAP!!
