Competition for parent or care provider’s support, the other side of each rivalry story, the role of active listening, working with feelings, parental fairness, labeling problem children, an how to help when children are fighting, are some of the topics examined in this session.

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 @ 6:30pm Scott Noyes is back! He will be presenting his most popular workshop offered called “Positive Discipline-That Works!” Teaching children how to behave rather than reinforcing inappropriate choices is the focus of this entertaining session. This talk includes: why not use punishment, humorous vignettes illustrating eight management techniques and a discussion of the challenges in implementing the philosophy. An energetic workshop on helping children learn appropriate behavior.

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 @ 6:30pm Jeanine Fitzgerald presents her workshop “Different Children, Different Needs” “Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded.” This workshop will explore the unique pattern of influence upon a child’s behavior and development, with particular detail on the inherited temperament. Together, we will explore the concept of “goodness of fit” between the child’s traits and those of the adult caregiver.
Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 @ 6:30pm Meagan Lendendecker from the Montessori School of the Berkshires will be present on “Avoid Summer Brain Drain” With the summer months approaching, we could all use a little inspiration for how to keep our kids entertained and engaged. Explore ways to cultivate your child’s social-emotional skills, intellectual clarity, and intrinsic motivation, all through the process of play! We will have great summer bags to give out to each participant!
